Redness-Rosacea Acne
Rosacea Acne
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs mainly between the age of 30 to 60 years. There are four subtypes of rosacea, in which subtype two is called acne rosacea. It looks like acne at the first stage but has a deeper impact than normal acne. It causes swelling and the blood vessels under the skin become visible. Acne rosacea can also potentially make your skin thicker. The reason behind rosacea’s appearance is still not known, and the same holds true for its cure as well. While there is no known cure for acne rosacea, the usage of proper medication can help control the condition.
Women being affected more often than men by a ratio of 3 to 1. Rosacea is thought to have a genetic component because it tends to run in families. While acne is a common skin disease that causes pimples or acne vulgaris, rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that leads to acne-like breakouts on the face and even affects the eyes and the central part of the face.
Rosacea does not happen to teenagers or kids. It is known as adult-acne because of this. Women during their menopause mostly get affected by acne rosacea.
What Is the Difference Between Acne Vulgaris & Acne Rosacea?
Rosacea can be mistaken for acne because acne vulgaris and acne rosacea share some similar signs and symptoms. But acne is usually more superficial whereas rosacea has deeper involvement in the structures of the skin. In acne vulgaris, the pore swells and becomes a whitehead. In rosacea, it’s less visible because the swelling occurs just beneath the skin. Infection isn’t present in acne rosacea.
