LASER FOR PIGMENTATION

LASER PIGMENTATION REMOVAL

The Candela Alexandrite laser is used on lighter skin types. This laser utilises a specific wavelength of energy to safely target the dark pigmented spots. The laser fires an intense burst of light to target the pigment lesions leaving normal surrounding skin unaffected. The laser light converts to heat to destroy the damaged pigmentation cells which turn darker over several days then fall off. Treatment benefits people with uneven pigmentation, age spots, freckles,  sun damaged, PIH and Melasma. Final results and number of treatments required are dependent upon skin type. Candidates with lighter skin normally achieve faster results with Candela laser and  darker skin types we will use the Pico Care 450 laser. This laser has shorter faster pulses because of the Picosecond technology and photo acoustically breaks down the pigment. The Pico laser provides targeted and safer pigmentation treatments with less dermal heat than older laser technology.  Less skin heating means Pico laser treatment for pigmentation is significantly safer in darker skin types.  Pico lasers will also be used for melasma treatment. Even your skin tone will improve day to day as the Pico Laser promotes skin collagen production thus improving the skins surface.

Pico Melasma treatment

Pico Melasma and Toning Facial

Melasma is the medical term for disfiguring patches of pigmentation on the face. They can be a result of sun exposure, genetic disposition or hormonal changes during the ageing process. This can also occur during pregnancy or in women taking birth control pills. It is brought about by excess melanin production and formation of concentrated deposits that result in darker patches of skin and an overall ‘blotchy’ appearance that can age your appearance. Short pulse pico laser shatters the targeted pigment in your skin into infinitely small particles that can be easily removed by your body’s natural elimination processes. And it’s ultra-precise. This means there’s minimal risk of damage to surrounding tissue, while the pigment is more easily and efficiently removed.

How does Pico Laser Melasma treatment works ?  Your therapist will double cleanse your skin prior to treatment. The laser will produce short pico second pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be absorbed by the dark pigment then Pico powerful laser beam shatters the pigment into infinitely small particles.  Over the course of several treatments, you will see the darker pigmentation gradually fade, as your skin progressively regains a smoother, more refreshed and youthful appearance.

How does the treatment feel? Laser toning treatments involve only mild discomfort. You may experience a slight prickling sensation as the skin tissue is heated. The therapist will move the hand piece carefully over the treatment area. You can expect this to be repeated in a number of passes.

When will I see the results? Melasma treatment is a gradual process that requires a set of sessions to work effectively. With the progress of time and with each treatment, you will notice a building improvement in skin tone.

Are the results permanent? The long-term success of laser toning and melasma treatments are determined by several factors. To achieve the best long-term results from your treatment, it is important to avoid sun damage. Apply a good sunscreen at all times and wear protective clothing during times of maximum sun strength.

Pico Pigmentation treatment

Pico Pigmentation Treatment

How does Pico Laser treat skin pigmentation? Pico powerful and ultra-precise picosecond pulse system is delivered at the right intensity to act on the darkened areas of pigment, minimising the risk of harming the skin and surrounding tissue.

How does Pico Laser Pigmentation treatment works ? Your therapist will double cleanse your skin prior to treatment. The pigmentation in your skin is targeted with powerful, precise Picosecond Laser, shattering the pigment into tiny particles. Your body’s natural processes eliminate them naturally through lymphatic system, and you will see the discoloration on the surface of your skin gradually fade and disappear. The required number of treatments will depend on the nature of the pigmentation. The pigmentation is removed, leaving even skin tone and a younger, appearance.

What results can I expect? You may experience some initial darkening of the treated areas. This is temporary, and after about 5 -7 days, they will begin to fade. They will become progressively lighter with each treatment. Usually 3 – 4 treatments are required to reduce most of the pigment; however, this will depend on your skin and the nature of the pigmentation.

Will Pico laser suit my skin type? Pico Laser can be used successfully on light or dark skin. As well as addressing pigmentation, Pico laser is an excellent choice for all-round skin rejuvenation treatment.

How will the treatment feel? You will be aware of light warmth in the treatment area. You will feel a slight sting, as if a rubber band is being snapped against your skin, but this is minimal, and highly tolerated by patients. Pico Laser picosecond treatment is significantly more tolerable than other types of laser treatment.
