HOW DOES IT WORKS

Skin needling, also called micro needling therapy or collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles.

The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the process of neovascularization and neocollagenesis, there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS REQUIRED?

It is recommended that 4 to 6 treatments be carried out, with the treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

Recovery takes place the same day, and the skin will look a little red – like a moderate sunburn- following Derma Roller and Skin needling

treatment. You will be advised to treat the skin gently until the redness disappears and apply the clinic prescribed Rejuvenate 15 serum.

PRE-TREATMENT CARE

  • Do not take blood thinning medications such as Aspirin or Nurofen for 3 days prior 
  • Stop using active ingredients on the skin 3 days prior 
  • Do not use Retinol for 3 days prior 
  • If you a history of cold sores or herpes please advise your therapist 
  • No cosmetic injection treatment 2 weeks prior 
  • No FACE TAN present on area (this may cause a tattooing effect)

POST-TREATMENT CARE

You may experience slight redness may occur after

treatment this is normal response will fade within a few hours.

1-5 days after treatment:

  • No active products such as AHA’s (Glycolic Acid), BHA’s, Retinol
  • No makeup after treatment
  • No exercise next 24 hours
  • No heat of any source e.g. sauna, hot shower, solarium
  • No blow drying or hair colouring
  • No rubbing or stimulating area treated
  • No swimming in a chlorinated pool or at sea
  • No chemical peel/microdermabrasion/dermabrasion
  • No IPL/Laser/fractional laser/Infa red light exposure
  • No Muscle relaxant/dermal filler injections
  • No Spray or self-tanning
  • No Cosmetic tattooing
  • Use gentle cleanser, hydrating moisturiser, serum & SPF 15 (min)
  • Use mineral makeup
